The National Play and Recreation Resource Centre and the Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs want to announce National Play Day 2011. It is taking place on Sunday 3 July 2011. National Recreation Week 2010 Friday 29 October to Thursday 04 November 2010
The National Play and Recreation Resource Centre and the Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs are proud to announce National Recreation Week 2010. The purpose of the Week is to promote the importance of recreation for young people. It is taking place between Friday 29 October to Thursday 04 November 2010. Events will be taking place across the country. The Role of the National Play and Recreation Resource Centre
As a result of the launch of the Ready, Steady, Play! A National Play Policy in 2004, National Play Resource Centre was set up to provide information, support, and advice on a range of issues effecting the development of children’s play in Ireland.  Following the launch of Teenspace National Recreation Policy for Young People in 2007, the Centre’s remit was expanded to cover the promotion of recreation for young people (12 – 18 years).

The Centre will:

• Act as a central information, support and advice resource on play and recreation;

• Work with local authorities and relevant agencies to support the implementation of play and recreation policies;
